My name is Marion Montgomery, Irish Dancing has been my passion from an early age, following on from the Irish Family hobby. I danced all of my years for Kathleen & James McLaughlin. I won my first major competition at the age of 8 and then I was hooked. My success continued and became the first Scottish All Ireland champion as well as being a world medal holder for most of my years of dancing, achieving 3rd place, in addition to winning many local and national championships. I qualified as an ID teacher in 2007 and subsequently set-up with Sharon to create The Montgomery Taylor School.

My name is Sharon Taylor, I started dancing at the age of 3 and won my first Championship at the age of 4. Again, I was a very successful dancer and won many competitions all over the world. I have been an ID teacher for 14 years, initially I taught with my mum but she moved to Ireland, so I continued on my own. I have produced many champion dancers over the years, who have won major titles such as: The World Championships, The All Ireland, British Nationals and Great Britain.

Our hope is that you will will find the site interesting and use it regularly for general updates and as a resource, even make it your home page. The site is for the School members to keep up to date and see how everyone is progressing. We will also include photographs from all the feis's entered over the coming years and also some from the past.

The Montgomery School of Irish Dance was formed in 2007, however the Montgomery family started their affinity with Irish dancing forty years ago, with an interest in Irish music following thereafter. All dance classes are located predominantly in the east end of Glasgow. The School is registered with An Coimisiun.

We both decided to start teaching because we want to give back to the children the joy, fun and life long international friendship that we had when we were young, and still have to this day.

Our class aims to instil fun, teamwork and ensure progression at all levels.

The Dancers are both boys and girls of various ages and grades. They have a passion for perfection and success in both their studies and life. Unfortunately for the parents, they also get pulled into the life of Irish Dancing.
